Celebrating Women in the Staffordshire Moorlands - Commissioned by OUTSIDE

In February 2026, OUTSIDE commissioned a project that looked to celebrate women living and working in the Staffordshire Moorlands, in line with International Women’s Day 2026.

The project was shaped by over 50 public nominations, celebrating women across the Moorlands who make a difference through everyday acts of care, kindness, leadership and community work. From these nominations, eleven women were selected, and I had the privilege of spending time with each of them - hearing their stories and creating their portraits.

The project was launched as an exhibition at Wellspring Methodist Church in Cheadle, where all of the participating women attended along with friends and family.
